Antonio Chavira Ruiz, a beloved figure in the lives of many, passed away on April 25, 2025, in Duncanville, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on April 16, 1958, in Chihuahua, Mexico, Antonio lived a life rich with passion and purpose that inspired everyone around him. He was a dedicated construction worker for the majority of his life, embracing the challenges of his career with vigor and enthusiasm. His hands, calloused from years of labor, were a testament to his commitment and love for building and creating.
Beyond his professional life, Antonio held a deep connection to the earth. He was known as an animal whisperer, forming unbreakable bonds with the creatures he cared for while working on a ranch. His passion for animals was matched only by his appreciation for plants; he had a special affinity for working with the soil. Antonio’s love for gardening enriched his life and influenced those around him, as he shared the beauty of nature with friends and family.
Generosity defined Antonio’s character. He was the type of person who would gladly lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was fixing a broken item or offering emotional support. His loving presence and full-throttle approach to life left a lasting impact on everyone who crossed his path. A devoted husband and father, Antonio cherished his role as a family man. He took great pride in his grandchildren, often sharing stories and laughter with them, creating a legacy of fond memories.
Antonio’s family meant the world to him. He is survived by his loving wife, Luz Ruiz, and his sons, Jorge Chavira, Tony Ruiz, and Ivan Ruiz. His daughter, Graciela S. Ruiz, along with his cherished grandchildren—Breonna, Angel, Alex, Anthony, Isaac, Messiah, Alyssa, Ruben, Alexa, Desiree, Abigail, and Adan—alongside his beloved great-grandson, Ruben Jr., carry forward his spirit and warmth.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ramon Ruiz, and his mother, Luiz Ruiz, who laid the foundation of love and strength that shaped the man he became. Antonio's proudest accomplishments included not only his work in construction but also his memorable experiences riding in the rodeo in Mexico, where he forged lifelong friendships and shared the thrill of the ride.
A memorial service will be held on May 3, 2025, at the Eternal Rest DeSoto Small Chapel in Desoto, Texas, providing family and friends an opportunity to honor his memory and celebrate a life well-lived. Antonio Chavira Ruiz will be deeply missed, but his spirit, generosity, and love will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
