Helen Sneed Redmon was born September 9, 1925 to the parentage of John Sneed and Urzzie Baker in Fairfield, Texas. Helen was a country girl with only a fourth grade education, but being self-taught and learning through life’s experiences carried her 90 years.
Helen accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Christ’s Willing Workers Missionary Baptist Church, under the late Lallie Johnson. After his passing, she continued to serve under Rev. Donnie Chambliss as long as she could. Helen was faithful in all her duties and did all she could and knew how to for her family and close friends. She had a heart as pure as gold and would give you her last.
Helen is preceded in death by her mother and father, and her only daughter, Linda Sue Lewis. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, James Sneed, Sr. and Shannon Redmon; five grandchildren – Brian Love (Kelly), James Sneed, Jr. (Teresa), Nathaniel Sneed, Kelley Lewis, and Shannon Redmon, Jr.; eight great grandchildren – Chandler, Karrington, Jorryn and Tatum, (James, Jr.), Cameron and Rylee (Brean), Alexis and Adrian (Kelley), affectionately known as “Big Girl” and “Booga;” two sisters – Nettie Landry and Althea Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, and family.
