Kimyahta “Kim” Carr-Nabors the daughter of Joy Cobbins and Dennis Cobbins, was born on August 29, 1985 in Amarillo, TX.
Kimyahta attended schools in Amarillo ISD and graduated from Palo Duro High School with honors ranking in the top 2% of her class. She was 6th in a graduating class of 363 students. While in high school she was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Who’s Who Among America’s High School Students, PALs, class officer, and was named Ms. Palo Duro 2003. Kim received her formal education at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. She furthered her education at the University of Phoenix where she received her master’s degree in business administration.
Kim accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age. She was a member of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ as a youth and remained a member until her passing. As an active member, she participated in the Sunshine Band, the Purity Class, and the Youth Choir.
Kimyahta Carr was united in holy matrimony with Christopher Nabors on May 15, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. They later moved to Rockwall, Texas where they established their home together. Together they were the parents to two sons Darius and Jordan.
Kimyahta worked professionally for MultiView in Irving, Texas, as the Vice President of Client Success. She was also the co-owner of S&J Hot Chick, a family restaurant in Dallas, TX. Kim’s intelligence, persistence, strong character, and faith in God are traits that made her successful with every challenge she accepted.
Kim is remembered for her love of traveling the world, and Queen Bee, family gatherings, food, and the Boomer Sooners. She also loved brunching with close friends, self-care, relaxing at home binge watching her favorite tv shows, and attending Dallas Cowboy football games. She loved hearing jokes; even those that made no sense to anyone else. Her travels, just to name a few included trips to Greece, Jamaica, Thailand, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Ibiza, Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and London.
Kim leaves to mourn her in passing her husband Christopher Nabors, and his two sons, Jordan and Darius Nabors (Rockwall, TX), her parents, Joy Cobbins (Amarillo, TX) and Dennis Cobbins (Amarillo, TX); a brother, Michael Cobbins (Amarillo, TX), a step-sister, Jade Cobbins (Atlanta, GA); mother-in-law, Rosa Nabors (Grand Prairie, TX), several special self-adopted sisters and brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.
